A Community Project Supporting Women
Our meals are organic, delicious & healthy, and prepared with love by a beautiful team of women at Provide & Conquer, and led by beloved local chef, Barbara Vag.
Historically, women in Costa Rica tend to occupy low wage and/or part-time positions in sectors like hospitality and tourism which are vulnerable to fluctuations outside their control. Pregnancy and childcare are also factors determining whether women are able to work. Plus, lack of education in rural areas leads to a cycle of early pregnancy, low wage-earning, substance abuse problems and a lack of role models who could encourage young women by offering a more rewarding and fulfilling alternative. These cycles create other problems as well.
Provide & Conquer was founded to address these issues, and to provide women in the community access to education, mentorship, training and funding that enables them to thrive both socially and economically. Mentorship not only offers valuable insights based on experience, but also positive role models to challenge the status quo. With training and funding, the foundations for successful entrepreneurship are created. And most importantly, this paradigm of collaboration, with the open exchange of ideas and perspectives, allows all participants to learn from each other and grow as women and human beings.
