Ocean Medicine. Community Connection.
We all carry grief that needs tending—given time, space and careful attention in order to move through us in its own time—so that we can be free to experience feelings of joy, gratitude and awe, a stronger sense of meaning, and a deeper connection to ourselves, each other and the world around us.
The Waves of Grief Retreat is an exciting opportunity to gather in community—to honor, express and share both personal and collective grief at a time when we need universal healing, and spaces to grieve together more than ever. And this place…talk about awe-inspiring!
Holding it all…together.
Recognizing that life is a steady flow of ups and downs, joys and sorrows, wins and losses, and that we’re all in this together, helps us to keep leaning into the world around us with kindness and compassion, to stay present and engaged, and to choose to live life to the fullest.
The Waves of Grief Retreat was created to provide an opportunity to let go and have some fun, reconnect with ourselves, strengthen bonds, cultivate joy, build resilience and foster community through rest, embodiment and self-care practices, ocean play and jungle adventures, self-reflection, being of service and making memories to last a lifetime.
Healing isn’t about ‘getting over it’ or ‘moving on.’ It’s about moving forward, even when we don’t want to, letting go what no longer serves us, integrating new ways of being and choosing to engage in a life worth living. The result is a natural shift away from feelings of despair, loneliness, anger and fear, toward love, compassion and acceptance. We must continually work at opening ourselves up to engage in ways that support who we are becoming, perhaps recreating ourselves completely or bringing back parts of ourselves that have been outcast for years.
Through immersive nature therapy, embodiment practices, and meaningful connections, we provide tools and experiences designed to empower individuals, families and communities to resist the cultural norms of grieving in isolation, and embrace the power of healing in community as a necessary act of self-care that’s essential to the health and well-being of humanity and our planet.

Riding the Waves
Grief is raw, messy, and unpredictable—it comes and goes, changing with the currents, creating ample opportunity for active release combined with rest and re-set. It may be uncomfortable, or feel counterintuitive, but allowing our grief to rise to the surface, riding the wave, catching our breath and staying mindful between sets, helps us prepare for what’s next, maintain our balance and find our footing again.
It is our intention to help you tap into your intuition, listen to your inner wisdom, try new things, build resilience, carry grief and gratitude side-by-side, and increase passion, creativity and JOY!
By providing a safe container for both inner and outer exploration, the Waves of Grief Retreat is designed to help strengthen your capacity to navigate the inevitable waves of grief and joy life brings, to be awed by the beauty and wonder that exists all around us, and to cultivate a genuine sense of gratitude that sustains you in hard times. We hope to inspire you to live more balanced and embodied, filled with awareness, intention, and a deep appreciation for life.
“The ocean teaches us about the ebb and flow of life, the impermanence of all things, and the power of surrender. In its depths, we find a reflection of our own souls, and a reminder that we are all connected.”
The Jungle is Calling!
Set in a tropical paradise, surrounded by the natural beauty of Costa Rica and warm healing waters of the Pacific Ocean, we’ll spend our time together integrating this heart-centered, embodied approach to life and living, incorporating rest, eco-therapy and mindfulness practices, yoga and meditation, journaling, surfing, hiking to waterfalls, horseback riding on the beach, through jungles and rivers, and even zip-lining if you choose!
Give yourself permission to hit the pause button and practice some good self-care. Let us help you unplug, get out of your head and experience joy by connecting with the natural world in a profound way. Allow yourself the space—and grace—to re-connect with yourself and the ones you care about, surrounded by the magic of this incredible Costa Rica jungle paradise.
Come alone, bring a friend or the whole family. This is your chance to gift yourself the perfect Costa Rica retreat, with no expectations except to tune in and listen to what feels good.
